Today we headed up the Owl’s Head Trail. Been on a bit of a hiatus from trail tracing, so great to get back on the trails. We both wore snowshoes up (husband snowshoes down, myself Hillsounds down -felt more comfortable on downs with a bit of extra traction). A nice addition of snow -but very dry and easy to get through. Hike was as advertised -easily stroll in, dipped to the brook, and then steady climb up. Temps remained modest in the 20’s and almost no breeze. Only saw one other hiker. Weather was predicted to be sunny -but we were pretty well socked in with some very light snow showers. Nice hike to dial in the winter gear. |
