Comments
Comments: I started a late morning hike to the summit of the mountain. A snow covered trail allowed for quick access through the flats and into the beginning of the ascent. Deeper snow prevailed trekking up slippery rocks, roots, and staircases of snow. Wet fog encased the trees within 50 feet. Exposed rock and a decrease in tree cover signaled the ridge line where the trail turned flat. Past two trail junctions, high alpine conditions prevailed. Rests at cliff faces granted framed views of lakes and ponds below. Locating the cairns was mandatory the closer I hiked to the summit. At the end of the ridge line, I stood on the summit marker with fog at 30 feet and flurries. Deep pockets of snow. Ice on exposed and high winds at a summit time
of 2:00pm.
