Comments: [Before snow storm]
Hiked the Morgan-Percival loop with the ladders and caves. The ladder route had been traversed since the last snowfall and was...interesting with the ice. Type III fun. The route through the caves had not been broken so we did so in our microspikes. I don't think snowshoes would have been helpful on this part of the trail, given all the uneven footing with the boulders leading into the caves and the trickiness of the caves themselves. The snow was not deep enough to make this route unmanageable. Type II fun. We did wish we had crampons a few times on some of the steeper sections of the hike, as the snow has been packed/blown away and ice remains. Overall, a fun way to spend a snowy Sunday, though if you are at all on the fence about the Terrifying 25 you may want to wait until summer to attempt the ladder route.
