Comments
Comments: A few grooming passes were made recently, leaving a somewhat soft corduroy. Snowshoes or skis a must, particularly since they're hoping to open to the public at some point (carpenter working at the lodge this afternoon, and snow has been made on the tubing slope). I wouldn't recommend taking new skis on the groomed trail yet, as there are some rocks and brush nubs in a few places. Other stretches looked nice (quite a few skinners out this afternoon/evening).

No activity between the top of the lift and the communications tower, so I attempted to follow one of the herd paths from the top of the lift. Couldn't really keep up with it without the footbed, so it turned into a bushwhack. Hit my turnaround time before reaching the clearcut, in part because of the crusty trailbreaking (maybe a foot of powder under the crust). My track is not particularly useful; the fastest way is from the communications tower when that's packed out.
