Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Lot was not plowed on 1/27. We ended up parking in the DPW lot off of Tripoli road and walking to the trailhead.
Surface Conditions

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: A couple of the crossings were tricky, especially the main crossing of Drake's Brook on the Drake's Brook Trail, but not impossible with careful rock-hopping. Definitely use trekking poles to see where snow/ice is weak.

Comments
Comments: Beautiful hike! There was a good amount of new snow, and we broke trail most of the way, but the snow had a crust on it due to recent temperature fluctuations, so it wasn't too bad. The route definitely would have been impossible without good snowshoes. Neither the Sandwich Mountain Trail or Drake's Brook Trail are well-blazed. Fortunately the trail was fairly evident for the most part, but it would be difficult after a fresh dump of new snow.
