Access road is well-packed by snowmobiles and easy to hike bare-booting, in snowshoes, or using spikes. Winslow Trail is reasonably well broken out. Most people were using microspikes, though I found snowshoes are more appropriate as the snow is still fairly soft. I used snowshoes from the summer trailhead until tree line. Especially up higher, expect some postholes. Barlow Trail is less broken out; I used snowshoes from the summit back to the car coming down Barlow. Summit is covered with a thin layer of ice; no issues with it if wearing spikes. |
