Comments
Comments: Not the best parking situation but I went with it. Coarser Brook Road has been plowed first 1.5 miles but had th recent snow of six plus inches above a crust on it. otherwise I did not see anything to do with recent logging? I had a good ski to myself on it and then about 2 miles Snowmobiles use the road as a trail, nicely groomed and little to no traffic at 9 am. I took the right(2.5miles)onto the old logging road spur, no snowmobile traffic just lots of Moose traffic. I skied about a mile up this to elevation 2200 ft. From there I snowshoed up and to the right to the summit. So much snow sinking in powder a good foot and I went around all the thick stuff staying in open woods. Until the wicked search for the recognized highpoint, it is hidden in thick spruce heavily laden with snow. I spent too much time tramping around hunting but I luckily managed to crawl into it, I was about to give up when I found it. Super fun and fast following my good track out and the ski back in my tracks was faster and more fun. I heard more snowmos than I saw, my route only overlapped on their trail less than a mile. Another nnh200 winter peak!
