Comments
Comments: Out and back on the Kinsman Ridge Trail, which is not my favorite access to Cannon because of the erosion, and the icy bits during winter. However I went this route today because I was hopeful that there was enough powder to hide the ice. And there was! Snowshoes all the way, definitely the best plan, as the base is still mushy. The snow is grippy and my snowshoes had me sailing right up, and then sailing back down. This was good because I got back to my car before the snow and the increased winds.
Snowshoes are absolutely the best plan. The trail was terrific on my way up but I did pass more than a half dozen microspike rototillers headed up as I was headed down. I did the best that I could to smooth out their damage but … sigh.
