Comments
Comments: Trail is not packed enough to enjoy wearing microspikes. I felt great in my snowshoes, no trouble at all on Stony but faced the regular drift issues we all encounter once I was on the Carter-Moriah trail. Revisiting BubblesTheHiker's post from yesterday (hi!), I'm mainly posting here to say ALWAYS KEEP TAPE IN YOUR BAG! Medical tape does work (only because we both had two massive rolls of it), but I was wishing I hadn't taken the duct tape out of my bag the week before as another backup. We were the medical tape snowshoe crew, if that warning didn't give it away. Mine were great, but Julia's broke in every single way they could break. It was challenging to fix them, but she is so strong and awesome that we still summited once we taped those boards onto her feet. We got to see gorgeous evening light from the ridge too.

We hiked the last three miles by head lamp and I will say, the fact that our winter hiking bags were extensive enough to comfortably survive the night made the usual dark-hiking fears nonexistent!
