 | Comments: |
Snowshoes are the best option for this time of the year. However, most were barebooting or in spikes. The entire trail has snow coverage, but occasionally rocks were just below the surface. And it was getting churned up in locations of softer snow.
Between Star King and Waumbek, the trail was much less packed. It was loose and uneven due to barebooting. On approach to Waumbek and out to the lookout, there was some significant drifting filling in before we returned. Views were socked in while at the summits (1-2ish), but it may have cleared later in the day. This area will need snowshoes to clean up the trail again. Please use snowshoes to keep the trails packed. |
