Please pick up after your dog. We pick up after ours. Someone’s dog took a dump smack in the middle of the trail right at the first split (like 50 feet from the parking lot). |

UNH, Allen’s ledge spur
We’ve been in Australia since just after the holidays so this was a bit of a jolt in terms of temperatures (but it was nice to have no bugs and no deadly snakes). Today’s hike was CRUNCHY!!! The track was in good shape. The postholes reported on Friday are almost entirely gone. Nice solid surface the whole way though it made for a loud day (as I said - crunchy). Found it interesting that someone put up a sign about postholes at the first trail intersection (just past the parking lot).
Snow started in near the peak so there were no views today except from Allen’s ledge. Wind really began to blow on the East Ledges and it was starting to get close to a whiteout there for a moment. Ah it’s good to be back… |
