Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Lots of small ones, all bridged or easy step-overs.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few walk-unders, duck-unders and one crawl-under (at least with my oversized pack). May be a problem if snow depth increases. Above treeline, the trail was difficult to follow due to drifted snow. Cairns were not easily visible, at least to me.

Comments
Comments: There was fresh powder snow on top of a packed trail. Maybe 3" at the start, 6-8" higher up. I wore snowshoes all the way, both for ease of walking and to help the trail. Most hikers were wearing snowshoes, so trail should be in pretty good shape, but some additional snowshoe work wouldn't hurt. The short stretch above treeline was wind-packed snow with a few drifts, so snowshoes were ideal. As mentioned above, I had trouble finding the trail on this stretch, but I just kept going up and found it OK. Views were intermittent, mostly socked in. It cleared up later in the day, so the late starters probably got the best views. Still, the woods and the summit area were absolutely beautiful with all the new snow.
