Comments
Comments: A lung burner minus 4 degree start this morning and thankfully zero wind all day. We barebooted up to the Imp then snowshoes until 19MB and barebooted on the solid packed trail from there to the trailhead. Bright blue skies for most of the day with excellent views all around including the Northern Presi's from George to James. Trails were nice snowshoe tracks for the most part with 2 to 4 inches of loose stuff on top. You'll become very friendly with the tree limbs bowing into the trail from the upper Imp all the way to the CDT junction. There was a lot of quasimoto hiking, skootching under and contorting around them. The slog up North Carter became sloggier due to the need to knock the snow off of the tree limbs. A barebooter left us many presents and torched the entire ridge stretch and we did our best zamboni-ing to try to smooth things out but more snowshoe attention is needed. We saw no other humans until 19MB. A great day for this hike and glad to get this three bagger.
