Cold start 12. Icy road walk but sand has been applied. Bear booted for the 1st mile. Unconsolidated snow just past the last house.....just past Tom Wiggin Trail & 1/3 mile to the Outlook rock just below summit. I used snow shoes mainly for televators. Only saw 8 all day. 3 in shoes others in spikes. Walden hasn’t seen traffic in a bit but 2 were breaking heading up. Mountain sounded angry with big winds, but really not too bad on top. Less than predicted, but still cold. Quick down.....great day to be out |
