Comments
Comments: Clockwise loop of these four peaks, with snowshoes for most of the day. Microspikes went along for the ride. Trail conditions overall were very good, a bit choppy from barebooters (especially from Mizpah hut to Jackson summit), but quite tolerable nonetheless, with a decent snowshoe track throughout. Only postholes I saw all day were to the edges of the trough. Crawford Path was a sidewalk and I barebooted that until the Webster Cliff junction just below Pierce summit. Snowshoes went on for the out/back to Eisenhower and then continuing for the rest of the hike until just after (below) Bugle Cliff. Between Pierce summit and Mizhap hut there were thankfully no blowdowns, although the trail is steep/loose in spots and my auto glissade engaged a few times. The slab/scramble sections around the Jackson summit cone were nicely covered and tracked out, just a touch of exposed ice on the Webster side, but pretty easy to get up/down. Overall a nice and relatively warm day, staying in the mid 20's for most of it.
