trail is a bit of a bumpy mess. It appears that before the deep freeze it was the victim of several bare booters leaving the surface of the track uneven, which subsequently froze. Today it was frozen and solid to walk on, with micros for traction. Snowshoes would be difficult given the narrowness of the track and crusty ridges on both sides of the track. The descent was an ankle rolling challenge. Clear evidence of how barebooting can leave the trail a mess for quite some time. Trail really needs a big dump of snow to be repacked. Cloudy day with minor snow showers, big mountains in the clouds, lower peaks visible with some interesting clouds and sun. |
