The trail today was fine. A bit choppy, particularly the lower half, mainly due to a lack of snow depth. Approaching the junction with the the Mead trail and up to the summit is better. The stretch from the upper lookout to the summit is really nice - well packed snow. The views to Squam Lake and beyond from the lookout are fabulous, and from the summit you get to name all the peaks in the Sandwich Range. Fun hike. |
