White Arrow and White Dot were in great shape. Spikes only. Took Smith Summit down to Black Precipice and Monte Rosa. This was a challenge at times due to drifting. Lost the trail early and wound up in waist high drifts. Once back on the path, the going was easier. For that short section, snowshoes would have been the right choice.
Monte Rosa and Monte Rosa Trail were well packed out. Spikes only. Breezy at summit, with a refreshing crispness to it. Enjoyed conversing with Carl today and learning new things about this terrific “hill” that stands alone in SW NH. |
