Comments
Comments: Welcome to April snow conditions in February! I wore snowshoes round-trip as did a large group of folks that I crossed paths with. With the current warm temps and very soft snow pack, snowshoes are the way to go; the trails are not solid enough for bare boots or spikes.

In the morning, Andrew Brook Trail was a beautiful track all the way up to the lake. On the descent, I noticed that someone in bare boots started up but turned around a couple tenths above the trail register. Unfortunately, this tore up the nice track a bit. I smoothed it out the best I could and I'm sure the group who came down after me did the same. When I was just about back to the trailhead, another hiker in spikes was headed up, so I'm not sure what things look like now.

The short section of the MSG between the lake and ledges was in rougher shape and needs a lot of snowshoe love. Noted minimal tracks southbound from the lake and northbound from the ledges.

Pretty warm down at lower elevations but the ledges were chilly with the strong wind. Didn't stay too long.
