Last night's rain and today's warmer (mid 40s this afternoon), sunny weather left the previously firm footbed VERY SOFT. With snowshoes, I was sinking an inch or two, sometimes half a foot. I was able to clean up some of the carnage from prior day barebooters (no sign of traffic today) as a result.
Without snowshoes, I would have been going up to my shins or knees in places. Snow was NOT setting up as of dusk this evening, so it'll probably be soft tomorrow. PLEASE WEAR SNOWSHOES during this upcoming temperature rollercoaster so that we can have nice trails to use. |
