Stellar conditions. Spikes the whole way (nobody in snowshoes- no need today. Very firm base on trail would not allow for postholing at the moment in cold weather. stepping off the trail is soft. [Which is one of the reasons snowshoes should be worn! Those postholes add up!]) Lots of people out and about enjoying the lovely day. The trail was holding up very well, even as temps rose above freezing. We have been hearing about difficult conditions on many trails- this is NOT one of them. It is perfect. |
