Snowshoes could have been used in the trail to North—post holes were evident. Snow shoes not needed anywhere else, and it was fine without even on the north trail.
Also, the trail was slippery slush, particularly on the way down as the day got warmer. Hillsound Trail Crampons were the most traction needed but couldn’t grab into slippery slush well. Poles helped, somewhat.
We could hear a lot of melting going on—and could hear a stream under the ice/snow. [which is another reason to wear snowshoes!] |
