South-to-North BondsZ Traverse. Huge thanks to all the groups that broke out the Bonds this past week. It made our hike much easier. Barebooted to the Wilderness Boundary, before switching to trail crampons. Switched to snowshoes at 2700' on the Bondcliff Trail and wore them all the way to Zealand Hut. Snowshoes are a must-have currently if you want to mimimize your level of effort. Trail crampons to 302 - the Zealand Trail and Zealand Rd are nasty and post-holed. Slow going at the end of the day. |
