We bear-booted LW to maybe 1/4 mile on Bondcliff then snowshoes for the rest of the day. LW is solid packed & fast. Any spots on Bondcliff Trail that saw sun was mashed potatoes. Bear booters really tore these spots up. Trail is in tough shape with many deep postholes. Warm temps this week, these areas shouldn't solidify. Hopefully more folks get out with snowshoes & pack this down. Too bad because the rest of the trail is in great shape. Top of Bondcliff is snow covered with a glaze of thin ice down into the saddle with Bond. Nice trail laid down all the way to West Peak. Beautiful sunny day with bright blue skies & winds weren't terrible. Leave the spikes at home & wear snowshoes! Long day but so worth it!!! |
