Started from the Starr King over flow parking lot and the trail was well packed until Waumbek. On Waumbek, we switched to snowshoes and the fun started. We immediately lost our way and that remained the theme for the rest of hike until we reached Waumbek again on our way back. Needless to say the trail is very poorly marked and every blaze found was cherished and celebrated. It was trail breaking and path finding all the way to North Weeks. Nora and Erik did most of the hard work and I was just glad they were in the mood for some training. We were completely lost on our way down from Middle Weeks and finally made our way back to what looked like a trail. After starting at 8:40ish, we found ourselves on North weeks @ ~4:15ish. We decided to follow our tracks back and spruce traps were waiting for us second time around thinking "fool me once, shame on me...". Reached the parking lot ~9:30ish. Strava says ~13hours and 17.5mi. |
