Comments
Comments: Snowshoed down Cummings Pond Rd on a snowmoed but ungroomed track that soon veered off into posted land. Continued straight on road to a T intersection. Turned S here and immediately passed a gate and a huge logging yard. Right after the logging yard, turned W on a logging road -shown on topo maps. At this point the logging road is not obvious since it is choked with pine trees. We zigzagged through the pines and annoying moose cropped growth for about 10 minutes after which the road was wide open. Followed road until approx 1700’, just after a brook crossing, where a major logging road came down from the mountain. Turned up this road, and followed it and skidder roads NW to the nose of the ridge at 2000’. Bw directly to recognized summit in wide open hard woods, going over several bumps before reaching the summit.
Surface conditions - unsupportive crust that would collapse under any weight, sinking a couple of inches
Grades - mostly easy, some moderate
