This new trail looked interesting. Weather cleared up nicely midmorning, although breezy on the ridge. Lots of switchbacks make for a gentle ascent. There is a cellar hole a few minutes into the trail. A lot of Red blazes on Brooks Fisher Trail.
This is a good time for the ridge as some of the trees up higher have lost their leaves, so many views of the lake. Went to Livermore along the very pleasant trail, great views from Livermore.
The warmer weather left the footbed soft and we were sinking in about an inch or two with Microspikes. There is a lot of carnage from prior barebooters. PLEASE WEAR SNOWSHOES during this upcoming temperature rollercoaster so that we can have nice trails to use.
Thank you, SLA and others involved, for this new way up to the ridge. It is a good choice for new hikers, folks with joint troubles, and a gorgeous walk for anyone! |
