Comments
Comments: Ravine Lodge Road from the second gate to the lodge was icy. Microspikes at a minimum. I spiked up, but kept my snowshoes on for the return trip.

Gorge Brook Trail was firm this morning due to the single digit temperatures. Full snow/ice cover top to bottom, including up to the summit sign. First time up there since the delineating strings went in above treeline; good addition to keep people on trail.

Trail was firm enough to support Microspike usage this morning, but I opted for snowshoes roundtrip and found them to be ideal. Some drifting starting around 4,000 feet in elevation. Lower trail was getting soft late morning with the warming temperatures and sunshine (noted someone had punched through into water).

Nice clear morning without much wind on the summit. Busy trail late morning, unfortunately with a lot of hikers equipped for November hiking, not winter hiking.
