|
 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of open spots at Mt. Clinton Rd parking lot, maybe a dozen other cars in the lot when we arrived, only 4 other cars left in the lot after we left |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Major crossings bridged by wood, a bunch of open drainages along the way, easy stepovers |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Cleared 4 leaners/blowdowns along the way, two larger ones left- one big birch up above the Mizpah Cutoff junction that has been there since at least last year, easy enough to duck around. One 10-12" spruce down a ways before the junction, there were a few smaller ones in that immediate vicinity as well that are now taken care of. The remaining 10-12" one is currently a pretty easy duck-under, but more snow may make it a crawl-under... I trimmed a bunch of sharp stubs off of it so at least it won't be snagging packs/jackets on the way by. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Hale had a great romp today, passed a half dozen other happy pups as well! |

 | Lost and Found: |
Found a Patagonia puffy near the Mizpah Cutoff junction, left at the kiosk |

 | Comments: |
Lovely day, trail was a packed sidewalk the whole way- could have easily barebooted the whole way, a few icy spots (especially near the top) but manageable with care. Barebooted the whole way up, put on spikes partway down due to some "technical difficulties" as described in the FB post linked below! |
