Comments
Comments: When you drive 3hrs to hike, you’ve got to at least get a third hike in ;) The trail was beaten at the start of the field and you can see a sign where it enters the woods, so no worries there. Snow/ice at the start but I never bothered with spikes. Once you’re in the softwoods, the snow and ice disappears. I found it a little tricky to see where the trail went after Tippin Rock but soon found it. There’s a spur about 0.1mi beyond that to the right but it’s not the one the guidebook mentions. The one the guidebook means is more well beaten about another 0.1mi beyond. It is very short and leads to an actual view whereas the spur before leads to a ledge but you can’t see over the trees. A couple minutes later and you’ll to come to another spur on the left that leads toward more cliffs and the base of one that the main trails traverses atop. Cool spot. Not given with a distance in the guidebook though so not technically needed unlike the other spur. The start of this spur is a little hard to see as there’s a branch obscuring it. There’s a double blue blaze on a tree here though. You may only notice this once you’re atop the cliff on the main trail and look down below and see the open area where the spur leads to the base of the cliff. Anyway, the blazing stops here but the trail continues to the summit. Herd paths do continue down in other directions though.

The grades were mostly easy-moderate. Seems like a very family friendly hike. Gaia had me at a little over 2mi with about 400ft of gain. Took almost 1.25hrs to complete with picture taking.
