Comments
Comments: No peak today, just a short walk in the woods. It was at least -15 with windchill. I started reconsidering my plan the moment I got out of the car at Lafayette Campground. It was so windy, and no visibility either. I decided to at least try for the hut and then decide whether to continue to Cannon.

Snowshoes the whole way. I took Lonesome Lake Trail to its namesake lake, and absolutely nothing was broken out after that. The path to Kinsman Trail looked like more than a foot and a half of wind blown snow. No thanks ???? Cannon will still be there for another day.

I did break trail the half mile to the hut and ate lunch there, and headed back. That was fun. Didn’t see anybody until my way back.

On the way down the trail was looking pretty good and you’d probably be ok with just micro spikes.
