Comments
Comments: Reports of a Gazebo at the summit sounded great. It is always helpful to have a destination when dragging family members on a bushwhack, and a gazebo (and views) really fits the bill...

Snowshoes were the way to go for the entire bushwhack; 6-12" of fresh powder over hard crust and some ice. Entered the woods on the south side of the parking area simply because this is where the piles of plowed snow were the lowest. Started going through small scrappy trees that opened to a field, which could be wet in warmer weather. We were off and on a couple of logging roads (I presume), but none that lead to the summit. Mostly, we experienced open woods traversing over a couple of bumps to the summit. There were numerous pricker bushes but they were easy to get through in snowshoes. What a gazebo!!!! How did that get there!!! Register was easy to find. Pretty much followed tracks down. Walked up mt prospect auto road; no views today as the snow had started.
