Trail was well-packed with 1-2" powder on top. We used snowshoes all the way, as did some other folks on the trail. A few others wore micro-spikes. We were happy with the additional stability provided by our snowshoes. Little to no postholing was evident. The summit view to the east and north was much better than I recollected from my most recent trip up there 10-12 years ago. Either some trees have toppled, or I've lost a few memory cells. Near the top - where the Sosman comes in - we opted to use that trail rather than continue on the Mt Tecumseh Trail. Most previous hikers had done the same. |
