A few to several inches of new fluff had been broken out by a solo hiker who started before us this morning. We were thankful. Still got a good workout snowshoeing through the significant amount of unconsolidated snow, which was especially tricky on the steeps just before the summit. The trail from Rt 302 to summit should be in pretty good shape as we met several people ascending with snowshoes and one barebooter who I suspect would have been exhausted if he reached the summit. |
