Comments
Comments: Snowshoes all day, and definitely necessary in the foreseeable future. Three of us broke 8-12" fluffy new powder on the road and trails, and 18-24" at elevation in the woods. Not much to report on the trails part, pretty good shape as far as maintenance goes. For the whack we took the de facto herd path as an out/back from Carrigain Notch, starting at a large conspicuous rock trailside. The whack has some very steep sections but we managed, albeit with a lot of backsliding. In the woods there is a firmer base of snowpack, beneath the newest snow. If you need Vose Spur in winter, now is a good time. :)
