Trail needed to be broken out, a good 7-9” fluffy beautiful powdery snow. Everyone except three people were wearing snowshoes so our work is mostly torn up by them. One even admitted they had snowshoes and left them at home (insert eye roll emoji here). There were some bad post holes- some 2+ feet deep from them going on the side of the trail. Be careful because the next storm could cover those up. I wish people would just WEAR SNOWSHOES and save potential injuries or even worse someone who can’t make it out due to these post holes and needing rescue. No one wants to wear the misery moccasins but they are a necessary evil in the winter-especially after a storm!
It was a gorgeous day with no wind when we got to the summit! A group of 4 went on and their plan was to break out to the hut and down. That could be broken out-until the next storm due to come in Saturday. |
