Pleasantly surprised that the trail was broken this morning. Broken but still very soft, you still need snowshoes until this gets well packed. We used shoes from car to car.
Took Avalon to Field and when we arrived at the junction with Willey Ridge the section coming from A-Z was not broken. We continued on toward Willey and here the trail was less packed and soft. Lots of snow bombs hanging from the branches which was less delightful. Although there were no views due to persistent low clouds the beauty was surrounding us in the forest. Lots of white new fallen snow, very pretty.
When we returned Willey Ridge was broken heading towards Mt Tom. Still definitely snowshoe hiking. |
