Comments
Comments: Other than Andrea and her son, nobody had been on this trail since before the storm. Even with what I did to help pack it down its still a long ways off from being any other forms of traction than snowshoes on this or most trails for that matter. Snow is mostly packed powder and loose granular, definitely will be additional drifted unpacked powder after tomorrows wicked brutal winds creating wind drifts everywhere. Semi packed trail with a tendency to sink and slide if you step off the edges and some sliding forward on the descent, the sidehill section to the top of the switchbacks is where sliding off the edges was the biggest concern. Evidence of barebooters chewing up the road on the return trip, would recommend leaving spikes at home for awhile unless you like the sound of spikes as windchimes
