Crossed road from parking spot and started hike on a Conservation Land road on a recently broken snowshoe track. Met groomed snomo trail within a few minutes. Followed snomo trail a short distance to its jct with snomo trail 153. Turned onto 153N until it approached Halls Brook where we noticed an old snomo connector trail crossing brook on a bridge. Immediately came upon another snomo trail after bridge crossing. Followed snomo trail SW to approx 2000’ at a large snomo loop. From 1850’ to 2000’, snomo trail appears as a red line on Caltopo. Then short bushwhack to recognized summit. Outstanding views to N on higher reaches of snomo trail.
LIDAR images of this area show several cellar holes and stone walls.
Breaking effort - ideal breaking conditions sinking 6-12” in nice powder
Tree density - open/wide open woods
Grades - easy |
