Comments
Comments: Trail well broken most of the way, could use micros until after that crossing, then snowshoes.
Further up on Dicey’s Mill, especially after the Rollins Tr split, the predicted wind conditions got a lot worse, snow drifts on trail , though trail recognizable. Howling wind on top of Passaconaway. I ran a video on top, not to show the rather boring spot but to hear the wind whipping across and the creaking krummholz.
On way down there’s a decent lookout. Snow had gotten a bit softer and I was sliding down on my snowshoes. Encountered a group of about 7 or so young folks at river crossing, a few of the in snowshoes. As it turned out they had pretty much messed up the trail until you reached the lower, established part of the trail. Nonetheless a cheerful crowd.
Please do pack your snowshoes.
