I did the loop C'Clockwise. Trail was firm and solid early this morning. Used spikes to just past the junction with the Peaked Mt. Trail and Middle where I switched to snowshoes for the rest of the hike, the trail being a little looser. Overall the the complete loop had a nice trough. There were some divits from the bare booters, but not too many postholes. The ridge leading up to Middle was pretty chopped up. By the time I was finishing the temps were about 40 degrees and the snow was starting to soften. The only other hiker was the one with her two dogs as I was finishing. Lots of back country ski tracks coming off of Peaked. |
