This was my first time here and in winter and wasn't sure how much action these trails saw this time of year. I was glad to find out that most of this loop had seen snowshoe traffic. The only unbroken stretch was along Northern Overlook Trail between the overlook and Lalish Trail.
On my way down Lalish Trail I passed a group of three in bare boots who were headed up, so things are probably more choppy now. With the continued warm temps, the snow pack is soft and snowshoes are the best tool at the moment.
Overcast skies to start but the sun came out about halfway through the hike and it was most welcome. :) |
