As anticipated, the state park road is closed for the winter. This added about 1.25 miles in total.
The snow is very deep most of the way. I wore snowshoes round trip. There's a well packed snowshoe track criss-crossed in places by ski tracks. To stay on the snowshoe track, look for the orange blazes. The summit still has a substantial amount of snow with the occasional patches of bare rock.
Great views at the top today. It was also very windy making for some funky patterns in the drifting snow. Cardigan is beautiful in the winter. |
