Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The broken out trail follows the old trail along the Brook, so lots of small water runoff that create long step over (may 24 of them) in one step over my snowshoe didn’t catch and fell over backward into the run off. Other then that no problem ????

Comments
Comments: The road walk easy, trip to Notch junction easy. There was one trail broken out that veered left, no sure where that person was going
The trail at Notch junction is broken out on the old trail and water crossing no issues, and trail towards Vose Spur nicely broken too. Met two guys on my return trip that camped two night and were ice climbing on The Captain

BUT was the climb started up the switch backs, my experience was lots different then Hilde’s report on Tuesday, as I was not lucky to stay on top of all the drifted snow, but was breaking through to my knees, as I was ready to turn around, Ben showed up and “flew” past me, so there was hope, and continued- but all the previous breaking had done me in- and then another young lady showed up- but I turned around about at the fourth switchback. I smoothed the trail out on the way back.
Also met another young guy on road walk, who was finishing his single season winter peaks on Carrigan (I had finished my over 70 winter peaks the day before on The Kinsmen)

So bottom line, the trail should be nicely broken to summit with three people the summited
Go for it now before more snow comes
