From vehicle, passed through gate into open field. Headed up the ridge in the direction of Mousley finding various logging roads going in the right direction or bw through clearcuts. Nice softwoods in the final push to Mousley summit. Found recognized highpoint and headed NW to Stonehouse. Initially a bit scratchy and sprucy for a short while before entering clearcuts up to the saddle with Stonehouse. Moderate grade from 1700'to 1900' through boulders and occasional blowdowns. Summit of Stonehouse a pleasant pine forest. Recognized highpoint has a summit sign. Summit bottle contents wet due to bottle cap being punctured in 2 spots. Hungry bear???
Followed our tracks back to the saddle, and then headed E staying on contour to meet our upcoming tracks at 1550'.
Started hike around 6:15 to take advantage of cold weather.
breaking effort - easy in 4-6" nice powder, until 10am when the snow got sticky in the warm sun
tree density - clearcuts, open softwoods, very little scratchy/sprucy stuff
grades - all easy, except a short, moderate stretch up Stonehouse
