Comments
Comments: It wasn't in the cards for me today. Used spikes on Three Ponds trail which was packed nicely from the snowmobile activity and put my snowshoes on when I turned onto the unpacked Carr Mtn. Trail. Doesn't look like anyone has been on the trail for a few weeks. Snow was crusty on top and powder underneath - Even with snowshoes I sank a good 8-10 inches each step - I wasn't feeling it today and turned around just prior to the water crossing. Hiked up to Three Ponds shelter instead, had a snack and then turned around for a pretty chill out and back. Still great to be out in the woods, saw two other hikers and a dozen snowmobiles. Will return in better conditions.
