Comments
Comments: Picked a great day to take this route up to the Kinsmans. Larry mentioned in his Tuesday report that the trail was a great snow shoe track and it still was, although since it was a nice Saturday there were two or three dozens hikers, most in snow shoes but plenty in spikes or bare booting. The trail was well packed and I could have bare booted all the way up to KRT but since this was my first time trying out new shoes I wanted to test them. Kept them on from car to car. I followed some butt sledders back down KMT and they did a nice job of smoothing out divots from the barebooters and spikers--I was pleasantly surprised. By time I got back to the car the temps had risen enough to cause of minor balling but nothing that slow me down. Numbers 20 and 21 winter.
