Comments
Comments: The trail is in great shape and all broken out, but is quite soft under foot. We had started in spikes but quickly switched to snowshoes once off the road and onto the trail. It felt so much faster and more efficient with the snowshoes, and it’s always nice to get that weight off the pack. The televators were worth their weight in gold on what I forgot was a pretty steady grind for a good part of this trail. It was a lot of work! The summit was spectacular—overcast, but clear views in all directions. Most of the 48 were visible, with a little help from PeakFinder app. There were ZERO winds on the summit! But a whole flock of Gray Jays we’re happy to see us). It was tempting to speed down the descent, but the snow conditions and footing make it tough to move really fast (plus lots of small eye-level branches that are out to scratch and poke at every turn!). Beautiful day for a hike.
