Well packed trail (thank you freezing temps last night), was softening up slightly as the day went on and temps went up, but still solid. Avoidable postholes. 99% of hikers were in spikes today. I started in snowshoes and soon was feeling like overkill, so I switched to spikes as well and did much better . They weren’t snowballing either which I was happy about. These conditions will likely change with incoming storm and or warmer temps, so I’d still bring both just to be safe. Great hike, bluebird skies and no wind :) |
