The full Faraway/Roberts loop is now broken out. Much of the Cold Spring trail had only a minimal set of semi-frozen tracks--easier to snowshoe fresh ones; same with Faraway Trail from junction with Cold Spring up to High Ridge. That part is now well broken with both snowshoe and ski tracks. High Ridge from Faraway trail to side trail for Faraway summit was unbroken, but now has a good snowshoe track. From there to Roberts had been broken to varying degrees, but now is well tracked. Roberts trail in great shape. The current wet, heavy storm will of course fill all this in, but at least there will now be a solid base for whoever takes on the next round of slogging. |
